Willow Voice vs Rambleproof
Willow Voice is cloud-first dictation with style matching, on Mac, Windows and iPhone. Rambleproof is local-first dictation for the Mac alone. Both clean up what you say; they differ in where that happens, what it costs and how far the app reaches.

The short version
Choose Willow Voice if you want the same dictation on a Mac, a Windows PC and an iPhone, many languages, and output that adapts its style to the app you are in. Choose Rambleproof if you only dictate on a Mac, want processing on the Mac by default, and would rather start on a free plan or pay once than subscribe.
What Willow Voice publishes
Willow's download page lists Mac, Windows and iPhone, with Android marked as coming soon. Its security page says dictation is processed on cloud infrastructure in the United States and that Privacy Mode, which keeps no audio, transcripts or edits, is on by default. Its feature pages also list an offline mode that runs on your device. The features it leads with are filler removal and punctuation, a dictionary that learns your words, saved shortcuts for phrases, and style matching across email, chat and documents. By default you hold Fn to talk and release to insert.
Willow's pricing page lists a free plan on its smaller model, Pro at $15 a month or $12 a month billed annually on its larger model, and Business at $35 or $28 a user. There is no lifetime license. Willow's own pages describe the free plan's limits in more than one way, so read the current pricing page before you rely on it.
What Rambleproof does
Rambleproof is push-to-talk dictation for Apple silicon Macs. Hold the shortcut, speak, release, and cleaned text is pasted at your cursor. Transcription and cleanup run on the Mac and work offline after a one-time activation. Cleanup removes fillers and false starts, then checks that numbers and negations from your speech survived, and falls back to a simpler cleanup when they did not. Cloud models are optional on Pro and use your own API key.
Unlimited raw local dictation forever, with 15,000 AI-cleaned words each week at Light or Medium, then basic cleanup (fillers and punctuation, no AI rewrite) until Monday. Pro is $8 a month billed yearly or $12 monthly. Lifetime is $200. English is the language we test and recommend.
