Flow Pro lists at $144 a year when billed annually or $180 across twelve monthly payments in the US. If its cloud boundary, platform scope, or recurring price does not fit, these are the current alternatives to inspect.

Why the alternatives are not interchangeable

Wispr Flow combines cloud dictation on Mac, Windows, iOS, and Android with more than 100 languages, account sync, and team features. Its current Free desktop tier has a 2,000-word soft cap and a 5,000-word hard cap each week. Flow Pro is $15 per user each month, or $12 per user each month when billed annually. Alternatives change at least one of those variables, so price alone does not tell you which workflow they cover. Apple Dictation: included with macOS

Apple Dictation is already available in macOS and supports punctuation and spoken formatting commands. Apple says Keyboard settings show whether a Mac needs an internet connection or processes general text dictation on the device. It is the baseline to test when you need basic dictation but not a separate cleanup product.

VoiceInk: $25 to $49 once

VoiceInk's official pricing page lists $25 for one Mac, $39 for two, and $49 for three, with lifetime access and updates. Its installation guide asks for macOS 15 or later, and its site says it works only on Apple Silicon Macs. Its local model focus and one-time device-based pricing are the main distinctions from Flow.

MacWhisper Pro: €64 once

MacWhisper's official site lists a free version and a €64 Pro license with lifetime updates. Its scope includes file transcription, meeting capture, and system-wide dictation. The direct-download and App Store versions have different purchasing and feature details, so check the vendor's licensing page before buying.

Superwhisper: $8.49 monthly to $249.99 lifetime

Superwhisper's official Pro documentation lists $8.49 a month, $84.99 a year, or $249.99 once. One license covers Mac, Windows, iPhone, and Android, and its model catalog spans on-device and optional cloud choices. It is the broadest toolbox in this list, with a higher one-time price than the other lifetime options shown here. Rambleproof: Free, Pro, and Lifetime

Rambleproof is our Apple Silicon Mac option. Free includes unlimited raw local dictation forever, 15,000 AI-cleaned words each week, and deterministic cleanup after the weekly allowance. It includes complete local history, two custom modes, and every safety feature. Each Mac is activated once with an account or a license key. Free dictation works offline after activation.

Pro is $12 a month or $96 a year. Its 14-day preview starts with the first successful dictation. Managed cloud is planned for a future release, with pricing and availability to be announced separately. Lifetime is $200, with a $150 introductory price for the first 60 days from the new pricing launch. Lifetime includes everything local and your own API keys. Managed cloud and cloud sync are not included and are not available yet.

The table uses published US dollar prices except MacWhisper, which publishes its price in euros. It excludes tax, regional pricing, API usage, discounts other than Rambleproof's stated founding price, and future price changes.

What changes when you leave Flow

Apple Dictation, VoiceInk, MacWhisper, and Rambleproof do not reproduce Flow's four-platform combination. Superwhisper is the exception: its site lists Mac, Windows, iOS and Android. Local products also ask your Mac to run models that Flow runs in the cloud. In return, some can work offline, offer one-time licenses, or avoid sending ordinary dictation audio to a vendor service.

Choose by boundary, then by price
